Nice hotel but the cleaning of the rooms needs to be improved. We have used the hotel quite a few times in the past years and are happy with the place, but have also noticed that the cleaning of the rooms has gradually become more random.

I booked this hotel for a break from 31st March until 3rd April, we are still here at the time of writing. I researched the hotel heavily before arriving and felt this was a good pick for location, space being an apartment and the amenities such as pool. As far as this goes no complaints. However the issue is around service and a failure to even apologise or address the issue that arose upon check in. We arrived at the hotel at 1230pm having been up since 3am UK time and didn’t expect to be granted access to room as early so just dropped bags off so we could explore area before official check in time of 3pm. We arrived back at hotel at 425pm and was issued our key card for the room. We headed up to the room and upon entry was greeted with a mess, the room hadn’t been cleaned or turned around from the previous occupant. Not a great first impression, especially when tired. We called down to reception whose response was equally disappointing “you will just have to wait for room to be cleaned”. My wife wasn’t impressed and headed down to see if a more adequate resolution could be found. Again no apology and we were offered a more standard room which was smaller than the one paid for which we declined as room service arrived to sort our original room. We were finally granted our room at 525pm, however no offer of a drink or apology whilst waiting and we just felt like we didn’t matter. Why in a 4 star hotel would you be provided with room key when room is not ready?! At this time we had not enough time to change and refresh for a dinner reservation and we had to unfortunately cancel this. I called reception to raise a formal complaint and to ask them to consider some form of compensation. Again no apology was offered and to add insult to injury was told “I feel For our room keeping staff and she couldn’t do anything until speaking with manger tomorrow”. I was told someone would speak to me in the morning regarding the issue. Next morning came and nothing from the hotel so raised with Expedia who we booked through and they couldn’t get any communication with hotel either. We have had a nice stay otherwise and Must say other staff have been more polite than the lady we dealt with on opening day. However hotel have not even bothered to reach out and therefore they get this honest review. I will pursue my complaint to recover costs associated with late check in and missed dinner. Really has left a poor reflection of hotel and wouldnt recommend on this basis. I accept errors can be made but it’s how you put it right that matters. The attitude of the staff member who dealt with us was really poor and then the failure to even provide us with an apology or feedback was nothing short of insulting.

Fantastic hotel, great location in the heart of Berlin, on the reception desk was so helpful and accommodating, would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Berlin. The hotel rooms are so nice and spacious, there is also a nice bar downstairs within the hotel.

Nice and spacious room for me and my family. Clean and good location for spending a weekend in Berlin. Close to the major attractions either by bus or subway. Good breakfast and also nice staff. Extra plus to Donata who assisted us upon check-in and also made us feel extra at home with fixing some fruits on Easter Day. Thanks Donata!

Week long city break with a toddler

Very family friendly apartment. Kind staff. Locale was residential and felt safe. Excellent housekeeping. Didn’t try restaurant for breakfast or a drink. Not a huge amount of family friendly restaurants in immediate vicinity but close to two underground lines. Small play park across the road. Highchair and cot were provided. Only issue is the cot was 10 euros per night and the cot mattress did not perfectly fit the cot so there was a big bump in it. I asked for this to be swapped but it never was. I would not want a very young baby in this cot but our toddler was ok for a few hours. None of us slept very well because of this but there was room for all three in the twin beds pushed together (not ideal). We didn’t let that spoil our trip. Pool was clean and enjoyable. It is colder than you would want for babies. Sauna was lovely. I think this would be a great place to stay for a business trip during the week and it turns into a more family friendly environment on holidays. I would recommend this apart hotel to family and friends, although I do wonder if we would have found eating out easier with our 17 months’ old son if we were somewhere a little livelier.
